Course overview
Scuba diving injuries are rare and symptoms are often subtle, but recognizing problems and initiating appropriate action can speed an injured diver’s recovery and minimize lasting effects. Oxygen first aid is one of the initial responses for diving injuries.
Prerequisites
Certification Requirement:
  • Current full CPR certification (ventilations and compressions)
Age Requirement:
  • No minimum age requirement.
  • Under 15 years of age must qualification must have a parent or guardian authorization, OR;
  • 18 years of age or older without guardian approval.

► Note: Some countries, states and local municipalities may have minimum age stipulations.
► No other requirement for any of the program.

Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries Provider Course

The Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries course teaches participants to recognize common
presentations of diving injuries and how to provide emergency oxygen first aid for these situations. This course is specifically designed as lay-provider training to educate participants to recognize diving related injuries and to properly use emergency oxygen for that purpose.

This course is intended for anyone who might come in contact with divers or diving-related injuries. It is written to meet the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) and the International Liaison Council on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
