Diving First Aid (DFA)

The Diving First Aid for Professional Divers provider (DFA Pro) course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills needed to provide the range of care that may be required for divers in an occupational dive setting.
The first part of the course provides background information and theoretical knowledge to support
the following sections. The sequencing of topics follows a “most likely” scenario to more urgent care. Secondary care is covered in the latter part of the course.
This course is intended for anyone whose diving activities are part of work-related responsibilities or as a volunteer in a variety of settings. It can also be used as part of the training required for individuals who provide surface support for divers and their diving activities.

This course is written to meet the
2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
